The Swingin' With company played 54 Below on March 10th with their tribute to the late Stephen Sondheim. Led by bandleader Pablo Rossil, the Swingin' With shows take famous music and gives it a new jazzy spin, and on this occasion, Mr. Rossil curated a group of four actors with strong associations to Mr. Sondheim…Mr. Rossil gave each guest some time to discuss their experience working with Mr. Sondheim on their particular show - Patrick Cassidy created the role of The Balladeer in the original Assassins. The Berrys are Franklin residents who have been involved with numerous organizations and causes in the area for more than 30 years. Dudley Berry served on the Williamson Medical Foundation Board and the Mercy Children’s Clinic board of directors, and she has been involved with Battle Ground Academy, Mercy Community Healthcare and the Hard Bargain Association in Franklin. Studio Tenn has announced Dudley and Tyler Berry as honorary chairs of its “One Night Only” annual fundraiser to be held Saturday, April 9, at Liberty Hall in The Factory at Franklin.
At this year’s event, titled “Broadway’s Big Top,” circus performers will mingle with guests during the cocktail hour followed by a show inspired by Big Top musicals. I couldn’t be more grateful to be here doing what I love, which is giving my knowledge and experience to benefit others in performing arts,” Cassidy said. Cassidy is the son of Oscar-winner Shirley Jones (“The Music Man,” “Oklahoma!” and “The Partridge Family”) and Tony-winner Jack Cassidy; half-brother to pop star David Cassidy; and brother to Shaun and Ryan Cassidy.
Growing up, Cassidy poured his time and talents into sports, straying from the family tradition in show business. By the time he was a senior in high school, he was a starting quarterback who led the nation in passing yards.
