the late Stephen Sondheim & John Weidman
We were blessed and grateful to have one of the last interviews with the late Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman. We will release this video today in honor of Mr. Sondheim's memory. In this Studio Tenn Talk, Patrick Cassidy asked Mr. Sondheim about his process for writing with John Weidman. He responded, "John was reluctant to show me any scenes from Assassins. Finally one day he sent me virtually a completed script with the entire book. I've talked about this before, reading that script was the most exciting moment I've EVER had in writing! I actually started to yell into an empty room. And was the show you did (referencing Patrick's role in Assassins)."
